How to apply FAQWill I need a work visa or permit? No, work visas or permits are not required for internships: legally speaking, an internship is considered as part of the language course and, furthermore, the work does not require a visa as it is not paid employment. However, if you come from outside of the European Union, you will need a study visa to study in Italy, in order to attend the language course. This will also be valid for the internship. For further information, check out the website of your nearest Italian embassy. Can I attend the Italian course in the morning and do my internship in the afternoon? Most companies require the interns to be available full-time, that is, for the entire day. They are expected to fit in with the company’s normal working day, so it is better for them to finish the Italian course before embarking on the internship. That way, they will have time to settle in to their new environment and will be able to take part in events and excursions organized by Sorrento Lingue.
