Conduct
The Sorrento Lingue student conduct policy focuses on
the premise that all students behave which is according
to the conduct and laws similar to their home country.
Sorrento Lingue students have an excellent reputation
and we always expect incoming students to meet and exceed
their predecessors.
Safety
The Sorrento Lingue student is obligated to conduct
themselves as responsible members of our program.
It is our experience that the most important factor
to living and studying in Sorrento is the sensible
and cautious behavior of the students themselves.
Each student must make a commitment to be an
informed,
aware and cautious participant when making day-to-day
choices and decisions while away from home. Actions
that jeopardize one’s own welfare or the
welfare of a fellow student will not be tolerated
and will be addressed immediately.

Drugs and Alcohol
Sorrento Lingue students are subject to the laws
of Italy. Excessive consumption of alcohol and
possession or use of illegal drugs is forbidden.
If a student violates the law here, we cannot intercede
on the student’s behalf. Students are required
to accept responsibility for their own actions.
Excessive consumption of alcohol and use or possession
of illegal drugs as determined by Sorrento Lingue
may result in dismissal from our school and program.
No refunds of any kind will be available for students’ dismissal
as a result of that students’ conduct.

Health and Safety
The health and safety of all Sorrento Lingue students
is very important. Each student is required to
inform us of any medical emergency or problem.
This information helps our staff advice students
on where to get help in the case of an emergency
and it also puts staff on alert to assist the student.

Responsibility
Many Sorrento Lingue students say that their experience
abroad with all its challenges and excitement is
the most rewarding time of their life. The information
and advice that Sorrento Lingue offers are intended
as a guideline in each student’s preparation.
Students are responsible for researching and understanding
issues that relate to the safety, health, etc.
relevant to their experience.

Citizenship Standards
As a guest in a foreign country, you are an ambassador
of your country. You should make a real effort
to try to understand and adapt to the customs and
behaviors of Italy. In Italy, there may be laws
and standards of behavior different from your own.
Learning to recognize and appreciate these differences
will enhance your experience with Centro Linguistico
Internazionale Sorrento Lingue as well as associations
with those who extend to you their hospitality
and friendship.

Self-Regulating
Communities
In keeping with the spirit of Centro Linguistico
Internazionale Sorrento Lingue, we expect our students
to live up to the added responsibilities that come
with life and travel in Italy. Our basic approach
in all of our accommodations (home stays, apartments,
hotels and temporary (short term residency), etc.)
is to establish a self-regulating community insofar
as that is possible. You will be expected to conduct
yourselves in a responsible manner according to the
standards given below. In the event this trust is
violated, it will become necessary for the director
of Sorrento Lingue to exercise authority and take
necessary precaution/action.

General Standards
In keeping with the expectation of responsible citizenship
by all participants in Centro Linguistico Internazionale
Sorrento Lingue, the following conduct is not
permitted:
- Drunkenness or disorderly conduct on any occasion.
- Dishonesty in any form (including cheating)
- Illegal use, sale or furnishing of drugs in the
school or accommodation.
- Possession of firearms or other weapons, ammunition,
or explosives.
- Disregard for the physical well-being, rights and
property of others.

Disciplinary Procedures
Any student charged with violation of the rules listed
above has the right to be notified by the Director
of Centro Linguistico Internazionale Sorrento Lingue
in writing of the charges. A student who violates
any of the 'General Standards' stipulated above,
who brings discredit upon other students, whose
behavior provokes suspicion of misconduct or whose
behavior is contrary to the best interests of other
students or Centro Linguistico Internazionale Sorrento
Lingue, jeopardizes his/her position in the program.
If the student is found to be violating these
standards, he/she will be subject to disciplinary action which
may result in any of the following:
PROBATION
- Suspension from Centro Linguistico Internazionale
Sorrento Lingue without refund of room or board.
- Suspension or termination of the student's enrollment
from Centro Linguistico Internazionale Sorrento
Lingue without tuition refund.
