There’s no better place to learn the Italian language than Italy! According to the U.S. Census Bureau, Italian is the fourth most commonly spoken language at home in America.Italy is world leader in many fields, from gastronomy to interior design, from fashion to graphic design and furniture, not to mention industrial sectors such as machine tool manufacture, robotics, electromechanical machinery, shipbuilding, space engineering, machinery manufacture and transportation equipment.

Those who aspire to work in these fields will find it useful to study the Italian language and to learn something about Italian culture. Italy is one of the world’s eight largest economies. More and more companies are looking for staff who speak Italian. As the world economy moves ever closer to globalization, it’s becoming more and more important to be able to speak more than one language.

Sant'Anna Institute-Sorrento Lingue offers individual and group Italian language courses, as well as tailor-made programs for students with particular requirements (e.g. preparation for enrolment at an Italian university, Italian for business etc. …).

As well as traditional classroom methods of education, Sant'Anna Institute-Sorrento Lingue offers all students the chance to put their knowledge into practice through full immersion in an Italian environment, and constant contact with mother-tongue speakers. Not only is that the best way to develop a command of the language, it is also a real opportunity to make friends with Italians. We consider that to be one of the greatest advantages that an experience at our school can offer.

Our students’ training includes constant assessment of the level of learning, using tests and exams to check progress, feedback sessions, and actual level achieved. Once the course is over, we will provide you with a certificate of attendance and instructions so that you can carry on your studies on your own.

Italian Culture Courses

Singing Lessons

Sant'Anna Institute-Sorrento Lingue offers singing lessons for both beginners and professionals. Our courses for professionals range from singing techniques and performance of opera and traditional Neapolitan songs, to breathing techniques and voice modulation. Our beginners’ courses, on the other hand, allow new talents to emerge and develop singing and breathing techniques through Italian and Neapolitan music.

Ceramics Course

You will learn about the processing, decoration and clay-baking techniques of traditional Italian craftsmen in a typical Sorrento ceramics laboratory. Upon request, Sorrento Lingue organizes excursions to Vietri, one of the most well-known and enchanting towns on the Amalfi Coast, famous all over the world for its ceramics.

Minimum length: 3 lessons a week

Italian Cookery Course

You will learn to prepare old-fashioned traditional Italian recipes and regional dishes that are typical of Campania and Sorrento.
Our chefs will take you on an all-Italian gastronomic tour, revealing the secrets of Mediterranean cuisine (e.g. hand-made pasta, gnocchi, fish-based dishes).

Every lesson revolves around a full meal including ‘starter’, ‘first course, ‘second course’ and ‘dessert’.

Diving

Explore Sorrento and the beautiful Amalfi Coast from another viewpoint: from under the sea, as you visit an underwater world made up of little caves in the rocks, caverns and seawalls.
