History of fascism (45 h, 3 credits)

 

Fascism was an authoritarian form of government which characterized Italy around the twenties and the thirties (1922-1943).  Thanks to this course, the students will deeply understand the dynamics, the origins of fascism in the country in which it developed and define the personality and the life of one of  the main characters of the previous century: Benito Mussolini, the fascist leader. The role Italian fascism had in the spreading of extreme right wing ideologies and the link with Nazism. A going through of the 2nd World War is due to have a better idea of that historical period. Moreover, the heritage of Fascism in Italy into several sectors will be discussed so that an idea of what still remains of it. Eventually, a test will verify the knowledge the students have acquired at the end of the course.
