Program Overview
A world-renowned resort town, Sorrento lines the cliffs that over look the Bay of Naples and Mount Vesuvius.  The town of Sorrento boasts an excellent safety record. Sorrento Lingue (SL) offers the flexibility of year-round teen programs.

Programs include accommodation, language classes, cultural activities, and the 24-hour support of an SL coordinator.

Sorrento Lingue can design a program that meets all curriculum requirements, time frames, and budgets. 

Courses can be taught by Sorrento Lingue’s outstanding teachers or in cooperation with the visiting schools faculty members. Outside of the classroom, students may take advantage of a customized program of lectures, conferences, concerts, and excursions that complement their studies.

 

Academics

The predominate focus is on the Italian Language, taught by our excellent teaching staff.  Our courses can accommodate beginning to advance Italian.  In addition to language, our courses are al focused on providing culture immersion and understanding.  A sample two-week program can be found below.

Day 1: Sunday

Flight to Naples

Day 2: Monday

8.30 a.m. Arrival at School / Oral Test to verify students’ level

15.30 Orientation Tour of Sorrento “Welcome to Sorrento, the magic land!”

 

Day 3: Tuesday

13.30 to 5.30 pm Games on the beach with local Italian students

 

Day 4: Wednesday

13.30 Excursion to Pompeii with a specialized guide

Departure from Sorrento by train, arrival in Pompeii and visit of the ruins. Enjoy an excursion to Pompeii, buried by volcanic ash when Mount Vesuvius erupted in AD 79. though the site is still not fully excavated, you can view the ruins of villas, ancient temples and the Stabian Baths to gain an intimate knowledge of how wealthy Romans lived 2,000 Years ago.

Day 5: Thursday

16.00 Visit to ice cream factory. Make your own ice – cream and enjoy!!

Afternoon Excursion to Positano and Amalfi by private Bus

 

Day 7: Saturday

Full day Sailing

Learning the basics of boating in the beautiful Bay of Naples.  An expert boating staff, with an excellent safety record will teach students the basic sailing techniques.

Day 8: Sunday

Full day Excursion to Capri by boat with a specialized guide.

Encounter beautiful views of the Amalfi coastline on an excursion across the Bay of Naples to the captivating and mountainous Isle of Capri. Travel by funicular to the town of Capri and board a cruise to see the most spectacular views of Capri’s coast. You will see the Arco Naturale, a majestic stone arch on the eastern cliffs and the famous Faraglioni, three enormous, pale-ochre limestone colossi that loom out of the sea. Continue to the main part of the island and see Roman gardens and stunning views before enjoying some free time to eat and shop.

Afternoon: 5.00 pm Cooking class about Mediterranean Cuisine and culminating in tasting of the prepared dishes.

14.00: Boat trip around Sorrento Coast. Students will have the great vantage point by viewing the cost from the sea. The private boat will stop occasionally to let them enjoy the water and the breathtaking landscape.

Departure from Sorrento.
Transfer to Naples

Other activities available, including tennis, soccer, swimming, sailing and much more depending on students preferred activities.

 

Excursion to Naples by train with a specialized guide + photos

A visit to Italy’s liveliest city is not to be missed.
Naples is filled with evidence of many centuries of occupation blended into fabric of the present day city. This complex heritage, from ancient Greeks and Romans to the Dukes, kings and queens of the Middle Ages and beyond, has contributed to a rich store of Galleries and Museums, ancient amphitheatres and ruins, as well as churches, monasteries, royal palaces and monuments: from Castel Nuovo, Santa Chiara and Palazzo Reale to Teatro San Carlo and Spaccanapoli.

 

Housing

Students will live in either hotels or bungalows.   Bungalows are composed of a double or twin bedroom, private bathroom and shower.  There is a reasturant, lounge, swimming pool on-site, plus a beach easy accessible by foot.
