Information
Centro Linguistico Internazionale Sorrento Lingue can
provide roundtrip transfers to and from the airport
upon advanced request. However, those wishing to travel
independently to reach Sorrento should read the following:
It is easiest to reach Sorrento from Naples, which
is about 50 km away. We suggest arriving to Naples Airport
by early afternoon giving you enough time to reach Sorrento.
If you arrive to Naples very late you should consider
traveling to Sorrento the following day. Sorrento Lingue
also offers a transfer (private taxi) service from the
airport in Rome or Naples. If you wish for the school
to arrange a transfer, please send us the arrival information
(date and time of arrival and flight or train number)
with the enrollments form or at least one week before
your arrival date.

HOW TO GET TO NAPLES
…Via Airplane
The closest domestic and international airport to Sorrento
is Capodichino Airport just outside of Naples. If you
are flying to Italy from the U.S., it is likely that
you will stopover at Malpensa Airport in Milan or Fiumicino
Airport in Rome, and then make a connecting flight to
Naples. Flights to Naples from the main European cities
are frequent.

…Via Train
You can reach Naples by train. There are three main
train stations in Naples: Central Station, Mergellina
Station, and Campi Flegrei Station.

HOW TO GET FROM NAPLES TO SORRENTO…Via
local train
If you are arriving to Naples via train, get off at
Central Station, where you can connect to the local
train service called “Circumvesuviana” (located
just before the exit to the station). Trains from Naples
run approximately every half hour until 10 p.m. Sorrento
is the last stop on the Circumvesuviana line and takes
approximately an hour.
The Curreri Autolinee s.r.l. is a bus that will
take you directly from the Airport in Naples to Sorrento,
Piazza Tasso – the heart of town.

HOW TO GET FROM ROME
TO SORRENTO…Via Bus
To find the best priced ticket we encourage our students
to consult different travel agents and / or the internet.
Students should fly into Naples or Rome. Sorrento is
about 3 hours from Rome and about 1 hour from Naples.
(Depending on your means of transportation; train, bus,
boat or car). When making travel arrangements students
should plan to arrive the Sunday before your first day
of class.

Once in the
town of Sorrento
Once in the town of Sorrento, we recommend that you
take a taxi to your accommodation.
Taxis are:
1) Found at the TAXI stations, which are always in front
of the train stations or the center squares “piazzas”
2) The easiest way to bring your luggage to your ‘new
home’
3) Price (€15 - €30 from the Sorrento train
station)
