| Apply for a passport
Apply for a passport if you currently do not have one. If the student already has a passport, make sure that it is valid for at least 6 months from the return date of their studies.
Visa
Citizens from the European Union do not need a visa
and can enter Italy with an Identification card or Passport.
Citizens from other countries should check with the
nearest Italian Embassy or Consulate.

Student Visa
If you need a visa to extend your stay for more than
90 days you should apply for a “Type D”
(student) visa. Sorrento Lingue will provide you, after
enrollment and payment of the deposit, with a certificate
of enrollment for your visa application. Make sure that
you plan ahead so that you have a sufficient amount
of time to receive your visa from the Italian Embassy
(1-2 months). To obtain a student visa, visit your local
Italian consulate office and apply. For more information,
please visit: http://www.italyemb.org/StudentVisa.htm

Making flight arrangements
To find the best priced ticket we encourage our students
to consult different travel agents and / or the internet.
Students should fly into Naples or Rome. Sorrento is
about 3 hours from Rome and about 1 hour from Naples.
(Depending on your means of transportation; train, bus,
boat or car). When making travel arrangements students
should plan to arrive the Sunday before your first day
of class.

Insurance
Sorrento Lingue strongly recommends that all students
are personally insured against illness and accident.
Contact your local insurance company to ask whether
your personal insurance is valid abroad; otherwise purchase
travel insurance. Members of national health insurance-companies
in EU countries should have the E111 form to obtain
free health service in Italy. Theft coverage is often
included in personal insurance; if not, we suggest you
purchase coverage for your stay in Italy to be on the
safe side.
