Archaeology: The cities of Fire (45 h, 3 credits)

This course is focused on the Roman cities in Campania during the I century A.C.

- Brief introduction to Greek and Roman history and arts

- Pompeii : the history of the city and its monument

- Family, slavery and religion during roman time

- Economy and Industries; arts and Craft in Pompeii

- Sex and Sexuality in roman colonies

- Houses, Villas, Decorations

- Herculaneum: the history of the city and its monument

- visits to Pompeii ruins, Oplontis (Poppea’s villa), Herculaneum, the National Archaeological Museum of Naples and Vesuvius
